Ms. Mejico joined the Aquinas community this year as our Freshmen English teacher. She comes to us with 20 years of experience in education and has taught at the elementary level. Additionally, she has administrative experience, including 2 years as an assistant principal at a K-6 school and 11 years as a principal for a Pre-School-5 school. Her administrative experience includes Special Education, Speech and Language, Resource Services, and Mild/Moderate and Moderate to Severe Special Education. She earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and an M.A. in Education with an Emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from Chapman University. She holds both a California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential and an Administrative Credential as well as a Gifted and Talented Certificate. Ms. Mejico has an interest in multi-tier support systems and is a member of the California Association of School Administrators. She has recently attended a Kagan Cooperative Learning training, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support training, and Multi-Tier Support Systems and Universal Design for Learning.
