Dual Enrollment

Dual, or Concurrent, Enrollment is when a high school student enrolls at a California Community College at the same time in order to receive college credit and advance their higher education during high school.

One semester a college = one year at a high school

Eligibility:
  • Must be at least a Sophomore
  • 10th Grade: Unweighted GPA of 3.25 or above
  • 11th & 12th Grade: Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above
  • May enroll up to 7 units per semester and will still be enrolled in 7 Aquinas classes
  • In order to receive high school credit, the college course selected must not be offered at Aquinas*
*Examples:
  • English Composition at a community college is AP English at Aquinas, so high school credit cannot be given at this time.
  • American Sign Language is not offered at Aquinas, therefore a student can receive both college and high school credit.
Pease visit the community college's dual enrollment website and speak with your high school counselor for more information.
