About:
Ms. Mercado is passionate about topics including sociolinguistics, language dialects, and the societal influence on literature. As an educator, she aims to incorporate best practices, culturally responsive teaching, and cross-curricular methods in her classroom. She is a huge advocate for students’ mental health and well-being inside and outside of the classroom. She may hold several English degrees and credentials, but she ironically grew up hating the subject! Ms. Mercado’s goal and philosophy in the classroom is to create a class culture where students can truly enjoy and comprehend English in their own individual way, as a few of her favorite teachers were able to do for her!
