Dr. Barrows is beginning his 22nd year at Aquinas. Prior to coming to Aquinas, Dr. Barrows worked for an organization specializing in behavior modification for adults. Upon starting here at Aquinas, he taught AP Psychology, coached Varsity Boys Soccer, and served as the Guidance Counselor for grades 9 and 10. He also coached Varsity Girls Tennis. Since becoming principal, Dr. Barrows has been awarded the Distinguished Principal of the Year in 2017 , the Innovator in Education in 2015, and the Distinguished Staff Award in 2009 by the Diocese of San Bernardino. He also frequently serves as chair for visiting WCEA/WASC accreditation committees throughout the western district. He received his B.S. in Psychology and an M.S. in Educational Psychology from California Baptist University where he played on the soccer team. He earned a certificate in Catholic School Leadership from Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Barrows completed his Doctorate of Education in Organizational Change & Leadership from the University of Southern California. His dissertation focused on new teacher retention rates in private institutions. He is a certified Apple Teacher and also serves on the Technology Committee and the Executive Council at the Diocesan level. His interests include sports, educational technology, and the moral development of youth.
