About Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry's Mission and Purpose

As a ministry of the Catholic Church, Aquinas High School continually seeks new ways to enhance the spiritual life of our community. Ms. Horton and Mr. Troy lead our Campus Ministry Team, which is comprised of student leaders. Their goal is to form Christian Leaders who will give of their time and talents to impact the greater community, while providing opportunities for the spiritual formation of our the Aquinas student body.

The Campus Ministry Team oversees the Vicariate (small faith sharing groups) program which meets monthly. They select the discussion topics of the month, which are based upon teen issues, faith, and formation. The team also organizes and hosts Vicariate games throughout the year for our year long Vicariate competition, which culminates with a final event, the Annual Vicariate Games, at the end of the year. Additionally, the team plans and serves as leaders for the daylong class retreats and the junior high grade retreats, which are offered to our partner schools. Finally, we organize student ministers for our liturgies, prepare holiday prayer services, plan Catholic Schools Week events, and assist our ASB with Homecoming, Make the Most of High School, and Holy War activities. All of these events and activities are a means of formation for our students so as to keep Jesus Christ at the center of all we do at Aquinas High School.
