Aquinas High School has seen some major improvements over the past few years. These improvements have come through the generosity of major donors, but many of them have come in the form of smaller donations that have renovated many of Aquinas High School's fifty year old buildings. In 2005, through the generosity of donors and the hard work of past administrations, the C-Building was remodeled including new lighting, heating, AC and a remodeled Chemistry lab. This marked the first major step in creating an improved campus for our students. In-kind donations also came from Carlone Construction to help transform the C-Building. In the fall of 2005, Shea Homes of the Inland Empire in conjunction with the Shea Foundation helped create a safer and more beautiful campus by replacing the aging chain link fence and enclosing the entire campus in a beautiful wrought iron fence with electrically operated gates. In addition they reconstructed the entire student entry area off the north parking lot to allow for the safe entry and exiting of students to the campus. This also included new lighting in the entryway, landscaping and bus stop benches for our students. This $1.5 million represented a major investment in the school's future and was completed at the end of the 2007 school year. In 2006, Aquinas received a grant from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians to replace the turf on Reisch Stadium athletic field. This project also involved donations in-kind from other inland business such as the Matich Corporation and Roquet Paving. What began as a dream has become a field of dreams for our championship football and soccer teams. New stadium lighting was also donated. The Class of 2009 donated the painting of the school's name on the back of the stadium. Over the past two summers, the gym has also benefited from in-kind donations to remodel the girls restroom and to improve the gym classroom, locker rooms and hallways and provide air conditioning in the gym for the first time in the school's history. Our most recent improvement has been the addition of new basketball backboards. The Fr. Charles Devine Tennis Center was added to the campus in 2008. Our girls tennis team now has a place to practice and compete right here at home. We also added a boys' tennis team in spring of 2009. This new state of the art tennis center was once again done through donations. This spring also saw the renovation of the varsity baseball and the complex named in honor of Bill Lemann, Class of 1969. In addition to our sports facilities being upgraded, the school's quad was also renovated with new turf, benches and the installation of a statue of Mary in the Quad. Photos of these projects can be viewed by visiting click here. While much has been done to improve our campus, there is still much work to be done. We are looking to add new facilities that are part of the school's master plan.
