ACADEMICS
Academic Counseling
The Counseling Department's main function is to provide auxiliary services which enable the student to achieve their full potential from their high school experience. Guidance services include: standardized testing, career counseling, college guidance, new student orientation, personal guidance and referral services. The Academic Counselor also assists students in the selection of courses each spring for the upcoming school year.
The goal of the Counseling Department is to meet with each student once per semester. Students may request to meet with a counselor at any time. Parents may call the Main Office to arrange an appointment with a counselor.
The school works closely with Caritas Counseling, a program within Catholic Charities. Personal counseling is available through this agency for students and families. Information regarding the services available is located at the AHS Main Office.
AP Summer work: Assignments for Honors and AP classes for the 2008-09 school year can be found here.
